Q) What is Social Boston Sports?
A) SBS is a quickly growing community of young professionals who live, work and play in Boston. Our goal is to enable substantive social interaction through recreational sports leagues, parties at your favorite bars around town, weekend get-aways, and a wide variety of cultural events.
Q) Is there a membership fee?
A) Friends don't cost money and neither does being a friend of SBS. Becoming a SBS member is totally free! You have the ability to get involved as often as your schedule allows, so you only pay for what you do.
Q) What sports does SBS offer?
A) SBS currently offers you kickball, dodgeball, softball, soccer, volleyball, skiing, and whiffleball! As time goes on, SBS plans to add a variety of leagues including street hockey, basketball, flag football, any many more! Let us know which sports you're most interested in!
Q) What type of events can I partake in with SBS?
A) As an SBS member you can participate in any and all of our social events and recreational sports leagues. We host bar nights, open bars, pub crawls, ski trips, white water rafting, rock climbing events, kayaking, canoeing and much more! We're constantly coming up with new activities for our members to participate in, so make sure to keep checking back here for the latest news.
We created SBS with the idea of providing our friends events that they normally wouldn't or couldn't do on their own. We want to provide everyone and all our friends a chance to get involved with what they want to do. But, we can't read minds (unfortunately) and we need your help, so email us with suggestions at

Q) Can I bring alcohol to the sports games?
A) No, there is no alcohol to be brought to or consumed at any Social Boston Sports game. Not only is it against the rules of all our facilities where we play, but it is also un-safe to be drinking while playing sports. There is also no drinking prior to any sports games. Any member caught drinking during or prior to a game will be asked to leave the game immediately without question. If the same member is caught again they will be suspended from the league with no refund.
Q) What does my league fee include?
A) Your league fee for all SBS sports includes the referee, your team t-shirt, field space, and post-game parties at our sponsor bars! There are no extra hidden fees.
Q) When can I expect to hear about my team or schedule for the league I signed up for?
A) Individuals can expect to hear about his/her team once the team is completed, usually the week before the league starts. We will send team contact information to individuals as the team is formed. When the league is full and all teams are confirmed we will post a schedule on the website. Typically this happens within 2-3 days of the start of the league, although the earlier the league fills up, the earlier the schedule will be posted.
Q) What do I need to register on the site?
A) The only requirement we have to register with SBS is that you need to be at least 21. SBS members are fun loving, have a great outlook on life and love to meet new people. SBS is all about having fun so you’ve got to be able to handle it!!
Q) How do I change my password?
A) Ok, so you forgot your password, its cool and we understand; it happens now and again. So here is what you need to do: If you already have your password, sign in and then go into your profile. Once in your profile click "Edit Profile" and then click the "Contact Info" Tab. Once there you can change your password and be sure to click "Update".
If you don't know your password then first click "forgot password" when you go to login. We will then send you a temporary password to allow you to repeat the above steps.
Q) Do I have to do anything as a member?
A) As a member you don’t need to do anything! Sit back, relax, and we’ll plan all the fun that you can handle; you just have to show up with your game face on!
Q) What is your refund policy?
A) SBS does not offer refunds for any events or sports leagues within 48 hours of an event or a league's start date. Refunds will not be available after an event or once a league has commenced, regardless of the reason. This includes missing an event or being unable to play in a league due to injury or illness.
